We thought we’d let the dust settle before giving our version of events and in typical Energy Agents fashion – totally layman and transparent!
History – Scrapped – Suspended – call it what you like it is no longer a legal requirement to have a Home Information Pack (HIP) in order to market a property for sale. However it is still a legal requirement to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before marketing a property for sale, well to be precise vendors will have to of commissioned one (ordered and paid for) before going to market, then a completed EPC needs to be made available within 28 days of first day marketing.
In short we encourage you and everyone concerned to have an EPC in place at the earliest opportunity – we will do all we can to ensure the EPC is produced as soon as possible.

Just to confirm – you need an EPC in order to market your property for sale or let – and there’s nothing the government can do about that.
